Basic Functions: The Biologist I-II assists the Senior Fish Biologist who is responsible for monitoring juvenile and adult Summer Steelhead populations within the Okanogan subbasin. The primary objectives of this position include conducting field work in the spring season for redd surveys, assisting with an Egg-to-Fry survival study designed to fill gaps in life cycle modeling and helps to maintain a PIT array detection network. Additional responsibilities include collection of field data through mark-recapture electrofishing, habitat surveys, snorkel surveys, and other data collection activities as needed to support the Research, Monitoring and Evaluation subdivision. This position also requires office related work, including submitting permit applications, data management, data analysis, and technical report writing.
