2018-2023
Summary
As a crucial role in the data management life cycle, Data Visualization furthers science and assists science to policy decision-making. Using “Data Viz” for exploratory data analysis provides insight for further analysis and interpretation. Data storytelling to present results aids understanding for natural resource managers, stakeholders, scientists, and decision makers. This working group provided opportunities to explore issues in data visualization for fish and wildlife data. We explored tools available to produce data visualizations, best practices to display data to varied audiences, and learned how to access further resources and training.
You can access the resources document here: Data Visualization: Resources and Literature, and see our shared folder where there are additional resources, recordings of the presentations, and literature here. Our PNAMP YouTube Channel, Data Visualization playlist has recordings of past meetings.
In 2020, the PNAMP Data Visualization Working Group merged efforts with scientists at USGS to form the Data Visualization collaboration area in the Community for Data Integration. All are welcome to join.
