June 3, 2022 Meeting Recording

TASK LEADS:

Nancy Leonard (PSMFC/StreamNet): nleonard@psmfc.org

Lara Erikson (PSMFC/StreamNet): lerikson@psmfc.org

Megan Dethloff (USGS/PNAMP): mdethloff@usgs.gov

DESCRIPTION:

This task group provided input to StreamNet on what content, and how to display this content, and how to best implement the 2 recommendations developed by the Data Display Task Group in 2021 pertaining to (1) Populations without HLIs and (2) Superpopulations and Other Groupings. Specifically, the task group was asked to (1) review draft content provided by the task leads for accuracy, and (2) provide input on how best to display this content on the CAP Fish HLI query. The geographic scope of this content includes populations/stocks/groups from WA, OR, and ID (broader than Columbia River Basin).

TASK OUTCOMES:

  • Revised and agreed upon spreadsheet summarizing data availability for salmon and steelhead populations that currently do not have high level indicator estimates in the CAP Fish HLIs query
  • Guidance to PSMFC StreamNet staff on how to clearly communicate the data availability information for these populations/stocks on the CAP Fish HLIs query
  • Guidance to PSMFC StreamNet staff on how to clearly communicate available HLI data for groups of populations on the CAP Fish HLIs query

TASK APPLICATION:

Inform what content, and how, PSMFC StreamNet staff will display the content on the CAP Fish HLI map query and tabular query. This work will be implemented by PSMFC StreamNet staff and shared with the StreamNet committees during the September 2022 meetings.

PRODUCTS: Dashboard view recommendations for improving data consumers’ understanding of data availability and displaying HLIs for groups of populations in the CAP Fish HLI Map Query Tool considered by StreamNet Steering Committee and Executive Committee.
